In spring 2003, Fidel Castro made headline news when he implemented the most severe crackdown in Cuba in many years.

Following a wave of hijackings, three offenders were arrested and executed, and over 75 ‘political dissidents’ and journalists imprisoned for up to 25 years. International opinion was outraged. Braving all criticism, director Stone returned to Cuba, where he gained incredible access to the major players, interviewing prisoners, their wives, dissident leaders and human rights advocates.

LOOKING FOR FIDEL highlights provocative conversations between the director and Castro about President Bush, Iraq and other major international political topics, providing an in-depth portrait of this iconoclastic political leader and helping to illuminate Cuba´s extremely controversial situation.
